Category pages assume the shopper is willing to wander. Most are not. They arrive knowing roughly what they want, and every click spent navigating a tree is a chance to leave.

We inverted the storefront so search is the primary surface rather than a box in the header, and built the catalog layer to stay fast as the number of products grows instead of degrading with it.

The storefront is live with search as the main way in, serving a large catalog from the edge.

Most shoppers arrive with an intent and leave somewhere in the navigation. Every click spent working down a category tree is a chance to abandon, and the usual fix, a search box tucked in the header, treats the fastest path as an afterthought.
We inverted it. Search is the primary surface, and the catalog layer behind it was built to stay fast as the product count grows rather than degrade with it, because a search-first store that slows down under its own inventory is worse than the tree it replaced.
